Is your iPhone not charging? iPhone won’t charge?
In this article, we’re going to go through some solutions in case your phone isn’t charging.
Let’s take a look.
Solutions when your iPhone won’t charge
There are various reasons why your iPhone isn’t charging or won’t charge, but these are the most common.
#1 There is lint or debris inside the charging port
When you carry your iPhone around in your pocket or elsewhere, it is likely around cloth in some form.
Lint or other debris can easily end up inside the port of your iPhone.
This obstructs the charger from being able to connect with the charging port inside the phone.
An easy way to remedy this is to get the lint or debris out.
A paperclip can work well for this purpose. Small/tiny medical scissors can be another one if you have them, and one of those blades usually has a hook, which can be especially useful.
But basically anything that’s small enough and firm enough to enter the charging port and get the lint/debris out.
Once you’ve done that, try charging your iPhone again.
If it still doesn’t work, continue to the next solution.
#2 Faulty charging cable or adapter
This is another common reason why an iPhone might not charge.
Charging cables and adapters can go bad over time.
They can also malfunction if they get wet or dropped.
The best way to determine if this is the problem is to try a different charging cable or adapter.
#3 The phone is not turned on
It’s possible that your iPhone just isn’t turned on.
This is easy to check.
Just hold down the power button until the slider appears and then slide it to turn your iPhone on.
If it’s already turned on, try holding down the power button until the “slide to power off” option comes up and then slide to power off.
After that, restart your iPhone by holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo.
Once your iPhone has restarted, try charging it again.
If it still doesn’t work, continue to the next solution.
#4 Your iPhone is out of battery
It’s possible that your iPhone just doesn’t have any battery left to charge.
This can easily be checked by looking at your iPhone’s battery icon.
If the icon is completely drained, your iPhone won’t charge.
Plug your iPhone in to charge it and allow it to fully charge before using it again.
If none of these solutions work, then you likely have a more serious problem with your iPhone and should take it in for service.
Hopefully one of these solutions will help you get your iPhone charging again!
